Coach Kill fires up fans in downtown Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS- Minnesota Golden Gophers football coach Jerry Kill fired up fans and alumni during a midday pep rally at the IDS Center Friday.

"We need to defend our house," said Kill. "We need you!"

The goal of the rally was to connect with hundreds of alumni that work in downtown Minneapolis. Kill was joined by "Goldy" and the U of M pep band.

"The last time Minnesota was 8-2 and Wisconsin was 8-2 was 1901," Kill told hundreds at the rally. "Come Saturday ready to go."

Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. It's expected to be the coldest game in the history of TCF Bank Stadium.
