2 Target Field workers injured in shooting

MINNEAPOLIS - Two people were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center after a shooting near a Light Rail platform in downtown Minneapolis on Friday night.

Police said the the shooting occurred just before 3 a.m. at the 5th Street platform. Officers arrived and located two victims with gunshot wounds.

The two men were employees of the contracted company that cleans Target Field; however, the incident is not believe to work-related. The two men are expected to survive, according to Minneapolis police.

Investigators are following up on leads. They do not believe the shooting was a random crime.
