Andover man set on fire dies from his injuries

ANOKA, Minn. - A 55-year-old man who authorities say was set on fire in a dispute with his landlord has died of his injuries.

Anoka County investigators say Scott David Yorek of Andover was burned over 80 percent of his body after the 29-year-old homeowner reportedly doused him with an accelerant and set him ablaze late Tuesday night. Yorek was rushed to a local hospital where doctors described his condition as critical.

A spokesman for the Anoka County Sheriff's Office tweeted Monday morning that Yorek died as a result of his severe burns.

The suspect fled the scene, but investigators were told he had a connection with a cabin in Orr, Minnesota. St. Louis County deputies arrested the man Prosecutors expect to officially charge him Thursday.
