Dispute leads to death in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Paul investigators are on the scene of a suspicious death early Tuesday morning.

Squads were called to the 700 block of East 3rd Street around 1 a.m. following a reported dispute. When they arrived officers found 43-year-old Joseph Michael Saros dead on the scene.

St. Paul Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Paulos says it appears the fight occurred between people who know each other. He says Saros and other men were drinking and things apparently got out of hand. Paulos adds that no weapons were involved in the man's death.

Officers arrested a 50-year-old St. Paul man at the scene and are questioning him in an attempt to find out what led to the fatal dispute. They are looking for others who may have evidence that will determine whether a crime has been committed.

Anyone who has information on the victim or what may have led to his death is asked to call 651-266-5650.
