Minneapolis police respond to 7th shooting this week

Mpls. police increase presence after spree of shootings

MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis Police responded to their 7th shooting of the week on Thursday evening in the Phillips neighborhood. 

The shooting happened on the 2500 block of Cedar Avenue, which includes Cedar Field Park. 

According to police, a Native American adult man had been shot multiple times in the groin and stomach area. 

Emergency crews transported him to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, as of midnight.

According to a neighbor who lives on that block, and wished to remain anonymous,  the shooting happened near a children's  playground, where there were multiple children present at the time of the shooting. 

The city has placed what appears to be a mobile camera near the playground area. 

Police have not indicated if an arrest has been made in connection to this shooting.
