MN fugitive arrested near Chicago

MANKATO, Minn. - A Mankato man charged in the drug-related deaths of two young people has been captured in a suburb of Chicago.

Police in Harwood Heights took 21-year-old Tyler Caputo into custody around 9 a.m. Monday. Caputo had been the subject of a nationwide manhunt after skipping out on a court appearance on charges of third degree murder and third degree sales of a controlled substance.

Caputo is now being held in the Cook County Jail. A hearing will be scheduled soon to extradite him back to Minnesota.

Authorities have linked Caputo to the deaths of Chloe Moses, 17, and Louis Folson, 22. They believe he provided
the dangerous synthetic drug 25C-NBOMe that both victims overdosed on.

Caputo had been released on bond, but did not stay in contact with authorities and skipped out on legal proceedings. The Mankato Free Press reports that he was arrested at his grandmother's home in Harwood Heights.
