ST. PAUL, Minn. - Michelle Walker, CEO of St. Paul Public Schools, has been named the new executive director of Generation Next.
Generation Next is a coalition of community members, businesses and school districts that come together to help close the achievement gap.
"The achievement gap is a crisis that is impacting the entire country in urban centers," Walker said. "The Twin Cities is not unique in facing an achievement gap problem and that's an opportunity for us."
Walker replaces RT Rybak, who is now the president and CEO of the Minneapolis Foundation. She will begin at Generation Next on October 18.
