Teachers learn new technology to inspire students

Teachers become students to learn technology

MINNEAPOLIS -- The number of computer programming jobs are on the rise. And faculty at Augsburg College have found a way to help teachers across the Twin Cities inspire their students to learn about science and technology.

On Saturday, teachers from across the Twin Cities participated in a two-hour workshop designed
for teachers. The course allows teachers to learn new technology that can be incorporated into the classroom. It also shows how creativity and arts can be incorporated into science, technology, engineering and math.

It was sponsored by the physics department at Augsburg College. Augsburg graduate Nora Helf, who led the workshop, said it also allows teachers to earn continuing education credits.

Teachers who attended the course say they left inspired. Some participants said they had 25 years of teaching experience. Others were early career teachers.
