A new Star Tribune Minnesota Poll finds DFL challenger Al Franken and Republican incumbent Norm Coleman about even in the U.S. Senate race in the final weekend of the campaign.

The poll finds Franken favored by 42 percent of likely voters who answered the survey, compared with 38 percent for Coleman. That's within the poll's sampling error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.

Independence Party candidate Dean Barkley slipped to 15 percent after holding steady at 18 percent in the two previous Minnesota Polls.

Other recent polls have shown the race as a tossup between Coleman and Franken, with Barkley in the teens.

The telephone poll of 933 likely Minnesota voters was conducted Wednesday through Friday.
