Admission Possible is looking for students
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Admission Possible is a Minnesota-based non-profit that helps disadvantaged high school students who have a desire to attend college.
Since it's inception, Admission Possible has spread to 17 high schools in the Twin Cities metro area, as well as several other states.
Executive Director for the Twin Cities Sara Dziuk says the program is now accepting high school sophomores for next fall's program. Students will work with coaches who walk them through the process of choosing a college, taking ACT and SAT tests, filling out admission and financial aid forms.
Dzuik says many of the students in the program will be the first in their family to attend college, meaning relatives at home may lack the knowledge needed to steer the process themselves.
Students attend Admission Possible sessions after school through their junior and senior years. Students who don't have Admission Possible in their school can still participate, as long as they can find transportation to a school that does have the program.
Those interested in applying for the free program should contact the Admission Possible coach at their high school, or log on to AdmissionPossible.org.
