Beauty and the Beast at The Orpheum
Belle, Lumiere, Mrs. Pots and the whole gang from the 1991 animated Disney classic take the stage at The Orpheum Theatre this week. The production of "Beauty and the Beast" stays true to the film from the music to the costumes to the script. Highlights include the colorful music and dance numbers of "Be Our Guest" and "Gaston." If the rest of the run for "Beauty and the Beast" is anything like opening night, the audience is sure to draw plenty of imaginative little girls dolled up in princess dresses as well as the adult crowd who share the same love for the fairytale. Carly Rae Jepsen and Nate Berkus at the Mall of America
The Mall of America is playing host to a couple big name celebrities this Saturday who will be sure to draw big crowds respectively.
The first is the girl responsible for getting "Call Me Maybe" stuck in your head -Carly Rae Jepsen. The pop music songstress will be appearing with FUN SIZE stars Victoria Justice and Thomas Mann to promote their upcoming film which features her song, "This Kiss." The red carpet event and autograph signing starts at 10 a.m. on The Patio. More information can be found here.
The second is interior design extraordinaire Nate Berkus who will be in Macy's Court for a book signing to promote his new visual manifesto, "The Things That Matter." The event starts at 2 p.m. and more information can be found here.
Twin Cities Film Festival
The final week of the Twin Cities Film Festival caps off with a great lineup of films, educational panels and mixers at the Showplace ICON in St. Louis Park's West End. Saturday features an opportunity to learn about an upcoming film with portions shot in Minnesota called, "LUMPY," starring Justin Long and written/directed by Minnesota-native Ted Koland. Both Long and Koland will be part of an education panel to discuss the film at 1 p.m. and introduce preview screenings at 8:30 and 9 p.m. More information can be found here.
