BEMIDJI, Minn. - An escaped inmate who fled police for four days has been captured, according to authorities.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office announced late Tuesday night that Keanu Major -- a 22-year-old inmate who escaped in Bemidji -- was arrested in St. Cloud.
Major escaped police custody last Thursday around 10:34 p.m., after being involved in a fight at the jail and being transferred to a local hospital for his injuries.
The incident prompted a code red alert.
Officers from Beltrami and Hubbard counties searched for Major for days and investigated a car theft near the hospital, as a possible tie to Major's disappearance.
Authorities say additional details will be released Wednesday regarding his capture.
