FOREST LAKE, Minn. - More than 24 acres of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries were destroyed in less than 30 minutes when storms rolled through a Forest Lake farm on Sunday.
"We had had golf ball-sized hail," said Kevin Edberg of The Berry Patch. "We had something similar back in 1981."
Edberg says they were expecting to begin picking on Monday. Now, they'll be closed for the season. Partners of the patch will be having conversations about potentially rehabilitating the plants, and whether they have the money and passion for replanting.
