GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The KARE 11 Backyard is undergoing a huge renewal. The backyard has been under construction since mid-May and we are entering our final days.
The big reveal will be Wednesday July 23 - so make sure you join us that night at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.
We will show off all the amazing bells and whistles of "Minnesota's Backyard!"
The final days have been very busy and what we highlight in this last Grow with KARE on our KARE Backyard project will show you the craftsmanship that went into the raised flagstone patio that surrounds the fireplace. Tim Johnson's crew from Southview Design are truly artists, and it took a very long time for them to create the puzzle pieces of flagstone that came together so beautifully.
We also had a chance to talk to the folks from Precision Decks, owner Bob Januik showed us how they are going to finish off the backyard kitchen and gave us some tips on how to make it a useful part of your yard that will work for any body that wants to cook outside. They also built the fabulous huge pergola that was constructed with reconditioned barn beams from a circa 1920 barn in Wisconsin. The wood was sourced by Lampert Lumber and it really frames that raised patio and fireplace making it a beautiful outdoor room and studio!
Again, join us next Wednesday and you will see the plants, trees and final final touches that are going in and it is going to be a great addition to KARE 11 and we can't wait to show it off and get back outside!
