GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - A national shortage of a critical chemo drug has many parents of young patients on edge.
The preservative-free version of Methotrexate is a main drug used to treat children with leukemia. A manufacturer in Ohio stopped making Methotrexate in November citing quality concerns. Some hospitals say they have only two weeks supply of the drug left.
US Senator Amy Klobuchar has been working on legislation to help the FDA end drug shortages and she joined KARE 11 News @4 from Washington Tuesday afternoon to talk about her work.
