MINNEAPOLIS - Lake Nokomis is host to several runners taking part in a 5K Thursday night, but this one's different. Everyone is encourage to do it barefoot!
The Naked Foot 5K is a national series that started in Denver, Colorado. Runners are asked to ditch the shoes and instead, donate a pair to Soles4Souls, which ships them to people in need across the world.
You can register online through 1PM Thursday. After that, you can register in-person at Lake Nokomis starting at 5:30 PM.
KARE 11's Bryan Piatt learned more about the race Thursday and spoke with Dr. Paul Langer with Twin Cities Orthopedics about the benefits of barefoot running.
