Brew at the Zoo

Raise your glass to conservation and sip on refreshing local micro brews at the sixth annual Brew at the Zoo taking place at the Minnesota Zoo. Complimentary appetizers and live music will also be on hand at the event with proceeds benefiting conservation programs.
Pizza Luce Block Party
August 9, 12 - 10 p.m.
The 11th annual Pizza Luce Block Party takes place Saturday at the downtown location and will feature hours of live music from Minnesota artists including Charlie Parr, Mark Mallman and GRRRL PRTY.
Skyline Music Festival
August 8 and 9
While last week it was Paul McCartney, this weekend Target Field will play host to the Skyline Music Festival for two nights of music in the stadium from artists like Melissa Ethridge, the Gear Daddies and O.A.R.
Rockin' the Bakken
August 9, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The Bakken Museum will offer free admission during their Rockin' the Bakken event on Saturday. Guests will be able to take part in activities focused on the science of music, building instruments, listening to some tunes and meeting TpT's Sci Girls.

From stage veterans to people who are brand new to theater, Minnesota Fringe is a forum for anyone with a story to tell and provides the support to make producing a show as easy as possible.
Here's one example: "The Ohman Stone" is a musical about the Kensington Rune Stone and the effect that find had on the Swedish immigrant family in small-town Minnesota.
The 2014 Irish Fair of Minnesota, a three-day annual celebration of Irish heritage and culture, will be held Friday, Aug. 8 through Sunday, Aug. 10 on Harriet Island in St. Paul, Minn. With approximately 100,000 attendees each year, this event is the largest free celebration of its kind in the nation.
Celebrating its 35th year, the Irish Fair of Minnesota will continue to provide a family-friendly experience featuring a multitude of activities, including traditional music, Irish dance, Gaelic sports, a Children's Tent, an Irish Authors Literary Corner, native Irish dogs, the Best Legs in a Kilt Contest, a variety of Irish shopping and an array of food and beverage options to enjoy.
Cafesjian's Carousel 100th Birthday
Saturday, August 9
Como Park's Cafesjian's Carousel is celebrating its 100th birthday on Saturday, August 9. There will be a special short ceremony at 3 pm tomorrow afternoon followed by free rides until 6 pm. The carousel which operated at the Minnesota State Fair for 75 years was rescued at auction in 1988. And has been operated by volunteers ever since.
