In a time when bigger is thought to be better, a Minnesota couple is walking in the opposite direction. In their outdoor world, tiny is terrific.

Eric Mase and his wife, Dana gave up big city life to design and build cabins that don't require a forest of trees to build. Eric is excited.

"I kind of wanted to find a niche where I could build something that's attractive and affordable," said Eric.

Each Wee Cabin is roughly 10 feet by 15 feet, a size inspired by the naturalist philosopher, Henry Thoreau, who taught living in harmony with nature said Dana.

"But it's so calm and peaceful how could you not be at rest when you're in a place like this?" Dana says.

The cabins are heated by a wood stove, and constructed with all natural raw materials from the Ely, Minnesota region where Eric and Dana live. "These are all off the grid. I did not know what that meant 'off the grid' ? it means not hooked up to the electrical grid. At Eric and Dana's woodsy home site, all the structures are Wee sized, except for the moose trail in their front yard, Eric say's that's pretty big.

"Yeah she's around with her calf, there's a bull moose that lives up the road. We hear him. You see, even if you come in here mad, you come out feeling pretty good, something special happens to you in here. Finding wilderness happiness in a big way ? by thinking and living small, moose not included.
