Kellogg recalls 10K Eggo Waffle cases

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Kellogg Company is voluntarily recalling 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles, after they were found to potentially be contaminated with Listeria. 

The company says no other Eggo products are affected by the recall. 

There have not been any reports of illness in connection to the recall but the company says they want to take every precaution to ensure the safety of their food. 

The recalled product was distributed in 25 states, including Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. 

To identify if you have one of the recalled products, check the box for ... 

-- a 10-count box, 12.3 oz. package

-- a UPC code of 38000 40370

-- a best, if used by date of: Nov. 21 17 or Nov. 22 17

If you have one of the recalled products, discard it immediately and contact the company for a full refund.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, or the elderly. Symptoms include high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria can also cause miscarriages among pregnant women.
