FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - Minnesota's 4H ambassadors volunteered for a lesson about worldwide hunger on Tuesday night.
The young leaders took part in an Oxfam Hunger Banquet at the State Fairgrounds.
The goal of the event is to show the kinds of foods available to different communities around the globe.
Participants said the exercise was eye opening.
Even though the state's economy is recovering, new numbers released this week show more than 500,000 Minnesotans rely on food stamps to help feed their families.
That's more than twice the number 10 years ago.
