Benefit held for Mpls. 'Miracle Baby'

MINNEAPOLIS -- At only 15 months, Musa Dayib will hardly remember the 11-story fall that nearly took his life. And he likely also won't remember how the community came together in the days and weeks that followed that fateful day. But his mother and father definitely will.

On Thursday night, Fadumo Abdullahi and Guled Ahmed attended a benefit at the Brian Coyle Center. The event was held to raise money for the family to help cover medical costs related to the accident last month. On May 11, Musa got onto the balcony of the family's apartment at Riverside Plaza, somehow squeezed through the railings and then fell 11 stories. Remarkably, Musa survived with a head injury and a broken arm, ribs and wrist. He's expected to make a full recovery.

His family is grateful to God for what they can only describe as a "miracle."
