Broken water main in Coon Rapids leaves residents dry

COON RAPIDS, Minn. - Crews are battling the cold in Coon Rapids as they work to repair a water main that burst Tuesday morning.

City spokesperson Stephanie Ring says the pipe that broke is a 24-inch main pipe that runs along East River Road between Foley Boulevard and Highway 610. .

Water has been shut off to the area while repairs are made. The goal is to have water flowing again by 2 p.m.

At this point there is no word on how many residents and businesses are impacted.

One lane of traffic along the busy thoroughfare has been shut down while crews work on the broken main.
