Crews break ground on Downtown East

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- Crews are breaking ground Tuesday on the Downtown East development near the new Vikings Stadium.

Ryan Companies and Wells Fargo will hold the ceremonial groundbreaking $400 million project. Downtown East will cover 5 acres and include office space, retail space, apartments, a parking ramp and an urban park.

Gov. Mark Dayton, Mayor Betsy Hodges, Former Mayor R.T. Rybak, Minneapolis City Council President Barbara Johnso are expected to be in attendance.
