Delta flight diverted due to smoke odor

MILWAUKEE - A flight from Minneapolis to New York was diverted after pilots smelled smoke aboard the plane.

A Delta spokesperson said that the pilots decided to land the plane in Milwaukee as a precaution.

The flight landed in at General Mitchell International Airport at about 11:15 a.m., airport officials said.

Passengers were put on another flight.

The source of the smoky smell is being investigated.
