E. coli closes 3 Minneapolis beaches

MINNEAPOLIS -- High levels of E. coli have closed three beaches in Minneapolis.

The Park and Recreation board temporarily closed the Lake Hiawatha Beach as well as Thomas Beach and the 32nd Street Beach at Lake Calhoun. Sampling from the beaches showed E. coli bacteria exceeding state guidelines.

Officials say there have been no reports of illness from swimmers.
