Good samaritans rescue man from burning car

TOWER, Minn. - A 44-year-old man from central Minnesota is lucky to be alive after being rescued from his burning car Thursday.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Carlo Theisen was driving his Honda Civic east on Highway 169 near Tower in St. Louis County just before 8:30 a.m. when he drifted off the road, lost control of the vehicle and rolled. The car started on fire, with Theisen trapped inside.

Investigators say two passing motorists, who have not been named, stopped and pulled Theisen from the burning wreckage. The victim was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.
