MINNEAPOLIS - The Interstate 35W Bridge will glow blue for 11 days, in memory and honor of Jacob Wetterling.
Gov. Mark Dayton directed the Minnesota Department of Transportation to light the bridge starting this Thursday, Sept. 15 and going until Sunday, Sept. 25 -- the night of the memorial service for Jacob.
The bridge will be lit in blue to represent child abuse prevention.
The Wetterling family and the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center have asked Minnesotans to honor Jacob's memory with No. 11 -- the jersey he used to wear in sports.
The hashtag #11forJacob represents the 11 traits and values the Wetterlings hope others will live by -- to be fair, kind, understanding, honest, thankful, a good sport, a good friend, joyful, generous, gentle with others and positive.
