Minneapolis Zombie Pub Crawl breaks world record

The Minneapolis Zombie Pub Crawl has broken a Guinness Book of World Records for the most people dressed as zombies gathered in one place Saturday night.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that at least 15,458 people dressed as the undead Saturday night for "the largest gathering of people dressed as zombies."

The Zombie Pub Crawl set a similar record at St. Paul's Midway Stadium in 2012 with 8,027 zombies gathered. That year's event drew a total of more than 30,000 people to the Warehouse District event.

Founded in 2005, the annual event has grown into a dual-city zombie invasion, while inspiring similar gatherings around the country.

The event included closed-off streets for multiple outdoor stages, food trucks and entertainment.
