Minnesota BMX mentor dies of cancer

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - A mentor in Minnesota's BMX community died Tuesday after a battle with cancer.

Cheryl Post had been battling stage four melanoma and passed away Tuesday afternoon, according to the St. Cloud Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau. She was first diagnosed in April 2013.

Post and her husband Mark Post worked with and mentored BMX athletes including their daughter Alise, a professional BMX racer and U.S. Olympian. Mark Post is the track operator at Pineview Park BMX. The couple played an instrumental role in opening the park in 1999

Funeral arrangements are pending at Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Services have not yet been set.
