Missing Wis. woman might be in Mpls., police say

MONONA, Wis. - A Madison, Wis.-area missing woman could be in the Minneapolis, according to the Monona Police Department.

On Dec. 24, Montserrat Zacarias, 25, walked away from a mental health care facility. She suffers from mental health issues, has no friends or family in the area, and may not be able to care for herself in the winter weather, officers said.

After getting the word out, police were notified that Zacarias was seen near Sauk City, Wis., about 30 minutes west of Monona. There police said she was asking for and may have received a ride to the Minneapolis area.

In speaking with her family in Illinois, police learned she has no friends or family in Wisconsin or Minnesota and they did not know how she got out of the city.
