MN's youngest mayor loses re-election bid

DORSET, Minn. - This is one case where cute just didn't cut it.

Young Bobby Tufts lost his re-election bid to remain as Mayor of Dorset, Minnesota, estimated population 25. The news broke on his mother's Facebook page Sunday.

Bobby was elected as the Hubbard County city's leader in 2012 at the ripe old age of 3. Losing the mayor's chair was wasn't due to anything the now 5-year-old did or didn't do; Dorset has a tradition of electing its mayor by picking a name out of a hat. Bobby's name was written on a slip of paper, but so was the name of Dorset's new mayor, 16-year-old Eric Mueller.
