Pedestrian struck, killed in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS -- Authorities say a pedestrian who was hospitalized after she was struck by a vehicle has died.

Minneapolis police were called to the intersection of Broadway Avenue West and Sheridan Avenue North around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a personal injury crash.

Officers and paramedics provided aid to the woman at the scene before she was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with significant injuries. She died Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle in the incident stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. Police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.

The crash is being investigated by Minneapolis Police.
