Police ID victim in officer-involved shooting

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Police have identified a man who died following an officer- involved shooting in Bloomington late Thursday night.

Police say 24-year-old Quincy Reed Reindl died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Bloomington Deputy Chief Rick Hart says officers were responding to reports of a suicidal person at a residence on the 9900 block of Briar Road around 11:15 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man outside the home holding a firearm.

Hart says the man refused commands to put down the weapon. Shots were fired five blocks away on the 5800 block of West 99th Street, killing the man.

Authorities have not released information about how and why the suspect ended up blocks away from where the incident began.

No officers were injured in the incident.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
