MINNEAPOLIS - Investigators are trying to determine what caused the death of a teenager whose body was discovered alongside the railroad tracks in northeast Minneapolis late Thursday.

Minneapolis Police spokesman Stephen McCarty says officers were dispatched to 14th Avenue Northeast and Fillmore Street just after 10:15 a.m., where they found a 15-year-old male dead.

At this point the case is being investigated as a suspicious death.  McCarty says investigations are unsure if the male jumped from train, was hit by train, or was killed in some other scenario.

The identity of the victim and a cause of death will be released following an autopsy by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
