Coon Rapids, Minn. - A 9-year-old boy critically injured Wednesday in a hit and run accident in Coon Rapids has been identified as Amir Kahron Taylor of Minneapolis.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's office, Taylor was struck by a pickup truck in the area of 111th Avenue and Kumquat Street Northwest around 7 p.m. The driver of the truck did not stop.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said Taylor suffered massive head injuries and was in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Investigators are looking for a 1993-98 full-size black or dark colored Chevy Z-71 pickup truck with an extended cab and two doors.

Witnesses say the suspect's truck had driver's side damage and the side mirror was dangling after the crash.

The driver is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s. He has short blonde hair and a "scraggly" unshaven face.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Anoka County Sheriff's Office at 763-421-4760.
