RAMSEY, Minn. -- A fatal accident involving two pedestrians closed a major highway in the north metro Saturday night.
The accident happened just before 10 p.m. on Highway 10 at the intersection of Sunfish Lake Boulevard in Ramsey.
The State Patrol says two pedestrians were crossing against a red light on Highway 10 when they were struck by a SUV. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrians have been identified as a 70 year old female and a 78 year old male. Their names will not be released until next of kin is notified.
Alcohol and drugs are believed to not be involved in the incident. The crash is still under investigation.
