MINNEAPOLIS -- You can save money and help the environment at the same time with Xcel Energy's discounts on Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) and Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs.
According to Xcel Energy officials, CFL and LED bulbs use 75 percent less energy than traditional bulbs. And, they can fit virtually all types of fixtures including floods, globes, dimmables and three-way lamps.
Xcel Energy offers discounts on CFL and LED bulbs in Minnesota, Colorado and New Mexico. You can get CFLs for as little as $1 each (bulbs may be sold in multi-packs) and Xcel also is offering a $10 discount on selected models of LEDs. These discounts are available while supplies last.
