GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - 'Tis the season...well, not that season yet.

It's the season of marathons, 10k's and charity runs.

Fitness expert Chris Freytag came by KARE 11 Sunrise Monday after the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon to talk about your recovery plan.

It is as important as your preparation plans, and if you are a "serial racer" you should make sure you have a great recovery plan to keep you ready for your next race.

Some point from Chris are:

  • Cool-down walk
  • Stretch your muscles
  • Take care of your feet
  • Fuel properly
  • Follow RICE method
  • Give proper recovery time
