GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - It's a whole week into the New Year, how's your resolution going?

One of the most popular resolutions is, of course, losing weight.

Fitness expert Chris Freytag spoke with KARE 11 Sunrise's Kim Insley, to talk about the best way to lose 10 pounds the healthy way.

Chris offered Kim a few pointers about how to lost the weight the right way.

  1. Don't expect the weight to come off fast 
  2. Realize exercise and your diet are married ... forever
  3. Eat the rainbow 
  4. Same habits equal same results 
  5. Ramp it up slowly 
  6. Ditch excuses 
  7. Mix it up 
  8. Watch your portions
