MPR radio host receives national medal

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Minnesota Public Radio host Krista Tippett received a top honor in Washington, D.C. on Monday.

President Barack Obama awarded Tippett with a National Humanities Medal at the White House.

Tippett received the recognition for her show "On Being," which is produced in Minneapolis and airs on MPR.

Tippet was one of only 10 people across the country chosen for the honor.
