Fired Baylor coach Art Briles apologized to the sexual assault victims at his former school Wednesday but did not address his involvement in specific cases while speaking to ESPN in an interview.
"I made mistakes," Briles said. "I did wrong. The captain of the ship goes down with it."
Briles makes clear in the interview his goal is to coach again, according to reporter Tom Rinaldi, whose sitdown with Briles is set to air at 9 a.m. Saturday on College GameDay.
Briles has visited multiple NFL training camps this summer and stated his intent to return to football coaching, possibly before the end of the year. Baylor announced plans to cut ties with Briles after eight highly successful seasons on May 26 in the wake of a widespread sexual assault scandal. Jim robe was named Baylor's acting head coach four days later.
