Snowplow driver gets DWI after hitting building

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Authorities say a city of Buffalo snowplow driver was drunk behind the wheel of his plow when he hit a building and a taxi cab.

Buffalo police told local media outlets that James Evans, 47, was driving a city plow truck when he hit a building near an intersection around 5 a.m. Sunday. Police say he hit a cab a short time later. The cab driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said Evans never stopped after hitting the cab. Police found him at his home and charged him with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an injury accident and criminal mischief.

City officials said he has been suspended without pay.

It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer yet.
