NEW YORK - Lindsay Lohan has left a New York City police precinct after being charged for allegedly striking a woman at a nightclub overnight Thursday.
The actress left the station house shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday. She wore a black jacket over her head that went down to her knees. She was wearing leggings, a mini skirt and high-heels, and drove off in a black SUV with a driver and another man.
Police say Lohan was arrested at 4 a.m. and charged with third-degree assault.
Witnesses say she got into the argument with another woman at Club Avenue in Manhattan and struck the woman in face with her hand.
Her publicist didn't immediately return a call for comment.
Lohan has had frequent brushes with law. TMZ reports that she is about to be charged with lying to police in June after her car accident on Pacific Coast Highway. Lohan told them she was a passenger in the Porsche that crashed, when actually she was driving.
If Lindsay is formally charged in the bar incident it could trigger yet another probation violation, and land her back in jail.
