WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congress has until Friday to agree on huge spending cuts, or President Obama says automatic cuts will kick in. It's called the sequester - and will slash both domestic and military budgets.

The White House released statistics Sunday night identifying the impact on Minnesotans. Cuts include 7 million dollars for primary and secondary education, as well as 9.2 million for teachers and aides helping students with disabilities.

About 920 low-income college students would lose financial aid and 500 more would lose work-study jobs. Minnesota would also lose about 3 million dollars in environmental funding.
