GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Microsoft released details of the new Xbox One Tuesday. The company calls the new console the "all-in-one home entertainment system".
"Games, movies, music, web and now Skype and live T.V.," boasted Microsoft Vice President of Xbox Marketing at a news conference.
The new system will be able to seamlessly transition between all those elements.
It will also have Blue Ray and the ability to call up information on your screen like fantasy football stats or live chat with friends. It's all done by voice command. A cool concept to be sure, but is it a game changer?
"It's definitely an evolutionary change from the current Xbox. I think it definitely could hit that Holy Grail that we've been looking for, for interaction with our entertainment," said Jeff Klawiter with the Nerdery.
Klawiter says the Xbox will definitely change the way we interact with entertainment. He also says the voice command and all-in-one concept are intriguing.
Microsoft did not give an exact date for the release. Xbox One will come out sometime this fall. The price is also still unknown.
