Where's Edgar the dog? Only burglars know
There are dog people, and then there is Meaghan Dop of Brooklyn Center. She is absolutely devoted to her 4-year-old long haired dachshund Edgar. "He's by my side, he is a mama's boy, wherever I go he goes kinda thing," Dop explained with a sheepish smile. "He's always at my feet, wanting to be picked up." That description explains why Dop's life has been empty for nearly a month, since the day Edgar was stolen by burglars. "Every day it gets a little bit harder just because we're coming up on four weeks now that he's been gone," she said, "but I'm not going to give up hope on getting him back." Poe came home from work October 23, to discover she had accidently left the back door unlocked. She cautiously went inside, and discovered thieves had made off with her laptop computer, a video gaming system, assorted electronics... and Edgar. He did not simply run away, as the burglars made off with the dog's bowl, food, and kennel. Brooklyn Center police say the case is active, but say it will be difficult to get Edgar home as he was not microchipped, or wearing a collar with tags. Still, Meaghan Dop refuses to give up hope. She has posted messages on her on-line pet diary, Craig's list, and several other sites. When asked if she had a message for those who took her dog, the response was direct, and emotional. "Edgar has a home, a mom who loves him very much, and wants him back home." There is a reward for information that leads to the return of Edgar the long haired dachshund.
