MINNEAPOLIS - Police have issued a crime alert after a man broke into a woman's south Minneapolis and sexually assaulted her.
Police say the suspect entered the home around 5 a.m. Tuesday near E. 31st Street and 18th Avenue S. by cutting the screen on an unlocked window that was covered with plastic.
According to a police news release, an adult female in the home was sexually assaulted before the suspect fled.
The suspect is described as a black male, dark skin, 20-30 years of age, medium build, 5'8"-5'10", and had a goatee.
The suspect was wearing a black baseball cap with an unknown symbol on it and a black letterman jacket with the basketball team "Nicks" on the back and dark baggie jeans.
