MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - The water is back in a Maplewood neighborhood following a water main break Wednesday that closed an elementary school and left hundreds without water for hours.
The decision was made to close Edgerton Elementary School, part of the Roseville Public School District, shortly after 7 a.m.
A school employee tells KARE 11 that Edgerton Elementary was left without water service after the water main that services the school was breeched.
It's not just school families that were impacted. A spokesman for St. Paul Regional Water Services says several hundred neighborhood residents were left without water, including those who live at the Edgerton Manor Apartments.
Crews completed repairs on the eight inch pipe around 1:30 p.m.
