MINNEAPOLIS - The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has confirmed that the body pulled from the Mississippi River near Fort Snelling Wednesday belongs to a teenage girl from Wisconsin.
Erika Borgstrom, age 16, jumped from the Stone Arch Bridge on May 14 with her boyfriend, 18-year-old Dakotah Coach.
School officials in St. Croix County, Wisconsin sent a note home to district families telling them that Coach and Borgstrom jumped from the bridge in Minneapolis in an apparent suicide pact.
Coach's body was pulled from the Mississippi last Friday near the Ford Dam in St. Paul.
Both Borgstrom and Couch died of freshwater drowning.
