BUFFALO, Minn. - A Wright County Sheriff's deputy has been charged with two counts related to DUI according to the Stearns County Attorney's Office.
The Minnesota State Patrol arrested Wesley John Holland on August 5 and has been charged with gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation 4th degree DUI and misdemeanor offense of DUI.
Troopers were called to a crash that involved a pickup truck and a car on eastbound CR 37 on August 5. Holland was driving the pickup that rear ended a car. While investigating the crash officers noticed Holland had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. After failing field sobriety tests Holland was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
He had his first appearance in court on August 7 and will appear in court again on October 4.
Holland has worked for the Wright County Sheriff's since 1992.
